The 25% Cash Rebate - For Film and TV Productions
Bulgaria offers a 25% cash rebate on eligible local production expenditures - but it is important to note that this applies to feature films, high-end TV series, documentaries and animation, not to commercials. Administered by the Bulgarian National Film Centre (NFC), the scheme requires a minimum qualifying spend of EUR 250,000 in Bulgaria.
The qualifying spend categories are broad: crew salaries, equipment rentals, location fees, post-production costs incurred in Bulgaria. The maximum rebate is EUR 5 million per project.
